'Party' with the Artist

Oh, the irony.

I'm compiling the visual arts calendar, when I come across this bio describing the artist showing next week at Victrola Coffee on 15th:

"'Florafaunaphobia' is an ongoing body of work by Seattle artist Jim Stoccardo. It examines basic human emotions such as alienation, displacement, and confusion. Common emotional states are represented by animal and human forms set in a desolate landscape. These themes represent man's world as a crumbling, forgotten place. It is a commentary about man and his environment and questions his sense of permanence in an ever-changing universe."

And then:

"Come party with the artist at the opening on Friday, July 6 from 6-9 p.m."

I'm guessing wine will not be served at this party. Just coffee. Coffee as black as your soul. Even more ironic is the fact that this guy's work isn't anything like what you'd expect from reading that paragraph. I am doubly baffled.
