Just as Mysteriously as they Changed...

The new parking restrictions in Georgetown have been changed back!

So those No Parking signs, the ones on Airport Way South in Georgetown that were changed without any warning (and in broad daylight) a few weeks ago -- the ones I wrote about here and here -- have been changed back says Kathy Nyland, head of the Georgetown Merchants Association.

No Kidding?

No Kidding.

Not only was the 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. restriction dialed back to the original 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. ban, the 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. restriction on the old signs has been covered in white tape.

Nyland says she called SDOT and the answer was that there had simply been a mistake. Checking on this...

"In any case, we've cancelled our 3 p.m. siesta hour because we can park again!" Nyland says.

Chalk one up for good old-fashioned public outcry.
