Part-Time Layout Editor/Ad Designer

Hours for this position are typically: Monday 9am-7pm and Tuesday 9am-9pm.

Seattle Weekly is seeking an experienced, dynamic and creative individual to join our staff as the Part Time Layout Editor/Ad Designer. Primary responsibilities include page layout and designing retail & classified ads. Some web design is also part of the position.

Page layout experience is required. Some web experience is preferred, but not essential. You must have well developed and proven creative skills.  Seattle Weekly is a deadline-driven, weekly publication with tight turnaround times. You must be able to work quickly, calmly and under pressure. Evening hours will be required.

Ideal candidate will possess:

• Graphic Design degree; BA/BS

• 2-4 years of professional graphic design experience

• Proficiency in MAC design software: InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop

• Strong understanding of typography and color theory

Position is 20-25 hrs/week on Monday and Tuesday. $17/hr

Additional hours may be required for special issues.
