Best Distillery: Woodinville Whiskey Co.

The people have spoken.

“Bartender! Whiskey!” For a long time this meant Jack Daniels or Jameson, but lately local distilleries have been popping up and grabbing market share, and Woodinville Whiskey Co., founded in 2010, has risen in the ranks. Fourteen-year whiskey veteran and Maker’s Mark master distiller David Pickerell heads this operation that uses local ingredients. Imbibe in the spirit with a tour in the company’s on-location tasting room. 14509 Woodinville-Redmond Rd. N.E., 425-486-1199

First runner-up: Sun Liquor

Second runner-up: Westland Distillery

Honorable mention: Oola, Copperworks Distilling Company
