Susan Powter
The P-I reader blogs, while a good idea, have proven an unmitigated disaster, generally updated about as frequently as Kobayashi misses a meal. They're not edited?on purpose, so that the Hearst-owned website can wash its hands of responsibility for any opinions expressed by the likes of local quasi-celebrity Susan Powter. Her self-filmed video rants (which, true to reader-blog form, ceased being updated in January, yet remain preserved for all to witness) defy categorization, even explanation. Imagine taking Western State Hospital's craziest patient, feeding her a cereal bowl filled with crazy pills instead of pills to make her uncrazy, giving her a camera, and telling her to talk for as long as she could. The result would still be 10 times saner than Powter's zany rants, which are like 10-minute poetry slams laced with liquid acid. In other words, comic gold from a guru on the ledge. ?Mike Seely blog.seattlepi.com/susanpowter
