Best Reason to Buy the Full Pass for Bumbershoot

Reduced-Price Ticket

Somewhere along the line, Bumbershoot's mainstage lost its way. Everybody understands the need to fill the seats. But Jason Mraz? Mercy! And sadly there was no opt-out option; everything at the festival was packed into a single ticket price. This spring, One Reel, the parent of the annual Labor Day fest, revealed the glorious news: This year, attendees will be able to purchase a reduced-price ticket good for everything but the Memorial Stadium mainstage acts. Then came the list of headliners, and the new ticketing scheme seemed almost moot. Featuring great crossover choices like Weezer and Mary J. Blige, the mainstage lineup is topped with none other than Bob Dylan. Parents like Bob Dylan. Kids who like Panic! at the Disco like Bob Dylan. He is at once an emblem of the '60s and '70s counterculture that the festival embodies and a contemporary songwriter who still makes it look easy (and sometimes steals) and does it better than everyone else. See you September 4. —Chris Kornelis bumbershoot.org
