Gallyn "Booger" Mitchell

Gallyn "Booger" Mitchell stands five feet tall. He grew up in Southern California, and his parents worked in the film industry. He once did enough drugs to merit sharing a mirror and straw with Charlie Sheen. The person we're describing was not one of the late Gary Coleman's schoolyard sidekicks on Diff'rent Strokes. No, Mitchell is the winningest jockey in Emerald Downs history, with more than 1,200 victories. He has spent time in front of a camera, as a stunt rider for such movies as Little Big Man (when he was 5) and Seabiscuit (when he was a grown, albeit tiny, man). His wife is his agent. They also have a veritable farm of animals occupying their residential spread in Enumclaw, and Booger has been recognized on multiple occasions for his steadfast commitment to charity work. Other jockeys might look prettier astride a horse and rank higher in the standings at the end of a given meet, but nobody's as consistent as ol' Booger. —Mike Seely
