Randy's Restaurant

Plenty of renditions of French toast around town are a gazillion times more creative than the Texas-toast take on the dish offered at Randy's Restaurant. But sometimes straightforwardness is worth celebrating, especially at such recession-friendly rates, and double-especially when you can get whatever you want at all hours of the day, any day, what with Randy's being one of Seattle's few remaining 24-hour diners. A transportation note to West Seattleites: If the South Park Bridge closure has you questioning how to access the real Museum of Flight (Randy's has aviation manuals and model airplanes covering every extra inch of wall and booth), there's a little-known bridge that crosses the Duwamish down around the U.S. Postal Service Regional Headquarters to the west of the river and the Annex Lounge to the east. Don't be intimidated by Boeing's private-property signs at either end; they're in reference to the parking lots, not the bridge itself. —Mike Seely 10016 E. Marginal Way S., 763-9333
