West Seattle Tool Library

Nothing sucks more than having to pony up for a tool you'll use, like, two or three times in your life. And renting a tool is like renting a tux; once you've done it a couple times, you realize you'd have been better off just buying one. Thank goodness, then, for the West Seattle Tool Library. Here, you pay what you can—even if what you can pay is nothing—to borrow a tool, a la checking out a library book. Run by Sustainable West Seattle out of South Seattle Community College's Horticulture Center every Thursday and Saturday, the Tool Library's volunteers will help you learn how to use your tool of choice if you're not so handy. What a deal! —Mike Seely 6000 16th Ave. S.W., sustainablewestseattle.org/tool-library
