Best New Gallery/Bar

With all the multipurpose gallery spaces opening in Seattle, it's great to see one that doesn't seem to be conflicted about straddling roles. Capitol Hill's Grey Gallery & Lounge is run by longtime bartender Erik Guttridge, who's got his feet firmly planted in the art scene. With opening exhibits featuring the likes of Dawn Cerny and Alice Tippet, and a recent vinyl installation by Shawn Patrick Landis, the gallery means business. The bar is a cool loft space that offers drinks with a view of the art, though you can visit the gallery side of the operation without feeling as though you've got to pony up at the bar. Still, the drinks are well-mixed, and they serve crepes, too.—Adriana Grant
