Best $3 Mussels with a Million-Dollar View

Maximilien

There's no salve for a long day quite like watching the sunset over Elliott Bay while being doted on by a congenial waiter, especially if that waiter is speaking French and serving you a mound of mussels simmering in a buttery-herbed broth—for only $2.95! That's right, hop on over to Maximilien in the Market for this screamin' deal, sea breezes, and Seattle-affirming view during happy hour, 5–7 p.m. Monday through Friday. There are also great wine and cocktail specials, and the patio's big enough that it's usually not too tough to find a seat. The hardest part is finding the place. Look for the neon red sign around the corner from the guys who throw the fish, and be sure to say "Bonjour!" to the smiling waiter who greets you at the door.—Aimee Curl
