Public Comment: Why Did You March in the MLK Parade?

Seattle-area activists, revelers and curiosity-seekers came out by the thousands on Monday to celebrate the memory of Martin Luther King, Jr. while pushing to continue the late civil rights leader’s mission.

Many packed the Garfield High School gym for a rally sponsored by the MLK Celebration Committee before marching en masse down to Westlake Park, beaming at the sunny sky and carrying signs in support of King’s “dream,” as well as a $15 minimum wage, a new addition from previous years. I asked a few folks why they came out to march. See their answers here.
