Intiman’s Valentine’s Cabaret

Those who saw him in last fall’s A Doctor in Spite of Himself at Intiman, or in Spike Lee’s concert doc of the stage musical Passing Strange, know that Daniel Breaker is one seriously talented dude. He can sing, dance, and shift his acting gears quicker than a Ferrari. For tonight’s Valentine’s Cabaret–with select seating available outside Intiman’s donor/subscriber base–he’ll be hosting a musical evening that features standards and show tunes from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, The Beatles, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, and Sammy Davis, Jr. Colman Domingo, whose A Boy and His Soul opens in October, is the co-host of an evening also to feature the talents of Condola Rashad (Ruined), Jose Gonzales (The Scarlet Letter), Nick Garrison (Loot), and Don Darryl Rivera (A Doctor in Spite of Himself). A three-piece band will back the singers, and you can expect plenty of joking and banter about love and heartache, as befits the date. BRIAN MILLER
