You Call That a Costume?

I recently went on a journey to find Halloween costumes that weren't so average, and raised the question, "Why is this a costume?" Here is what I found on my three-day excursion:

Archie McPhee in Ballard:

Brain Hat $8.95. Worn with street clothing = silly (and lazy).

Black Wool Beret $7.95. An easy, cheap, and thoughtless costume.

Pretty Parlor on Capitol Hill:

Arsenio Hall Suit $75. Be the life of the party, or just pimp.

Red Light on Capitol Hill:

Tree $119.

Pack of Ciggarettes $64, Mystery Hero (aka Sexy Zorro, also shown below) $48.

Note: This costume does not include fishents, boots, or hat.

Cowardly Lion $64. The Wizard of Oz meets Striptease.

Cat $68. Meow?

Snake Charmer $54.

Toaster $64.

Chaps (for kids!) $30. Now our kids can be like Britney and Christina!

Teen Wolf: Jersey $12, Wolf gloves $14, Wolf Hat $28.

Killer Cock: Jumpsuit $3, Cock Mask $24, Ninja Sword $54. My personal favorite.

Also at Red Light, things I couldn't get my friends to try on:

Fortune Teller Booth $82.

Count Chocula $86.

Purple Teletubby $54.

Get them while supplies last!
