The Wombats

Wednesday, August 27

After two cycles of English band The Wombats’ debut album, A Guide To Love, Loss, & Desperation, I was on the Internet searching for a cheap ticket to Liverpool. No joke. The number of great Brit bands out there these days is almost beyond counting, but I’m hard-pressed to come up with a better example of both the sound and image UK indie rock should embody. It’s catchy, it’s fun and it’s honest. And with the exception of a limited six show mini-tour last August, this is the first time the trio has made an appearance on our side of the pond. I can already half-imagine watching the band levitate above the Neumos stage in a real-life imitation of their jam, “Let’s Dance to Joy Division.” Because this is a 107.7 The End “Are You On The List?” show, it’s free, but that also means you have to win your way in. So tune in and listen up!
