It’s no wonder that everyone—meaning me—is is fascinated by Prince William and Kate Middleton’s pending nuptials. He’s a royal, she’s a pretty commoner whom he met and fell in love with in college; fairytales like this don’t come along often in real life. But for those—again, me—who've been following the couple’s every move leading up to today's ceremony at Westminster Abbey, where's our invitation?!? Fortunately, the Kangaroo & Kiwi Pub is hosting a royal wedding reception for those of us more familiar with Belltown than Belgravia. The watering hole usually caters to Aussies and New Zealanders, but as Australian owner Brad Howe explains, “We’re part of the Commonwealth, too, so it’s a good excuse to throw a party!” Attendees are asked to dress in formal attire to watch the tape-delayed TV broadcast; and outrageous hats are naturally encouraged. Any normal wedding reception featuring a full bar often leads to debauchery; so, ladies, you might find a prince of your own by the end of the night—minus the pedigree but with a charming accent nonetheless.
