Stories

Judith Kindler has a thing for rabbits. Also rabbit ears and rabbit cages, though a few white porcelain birds also find their way into the group show “Stories.” Kindler’s photos of rabbit tableaus and portraits of the same glum male model—bound by twine to his other, smaller portraits—are excerpted from her larger installation Don’t Hate Me Because I’m Beautiful. There’s a theatrical whimsy at work: little stage sets into which human figures are awkwardly introduced, often by poking through, yes, a rabbit hole. Also on view, work by Larine Chung, Warren Dykeman, Julia Freeman, Cable Griffith, Grant Hottle, Elisa Huerta-Enochian, and Dennis Raines. BRIAN MILLER
