Poltergeist

“They’re baa-aaack.” Nobody wants troublesome spirits back once they’ve been exorcised, but I’m all for a revival of ’80s horror flicks (is there anything other than 28 Days Later and The Descent that’s been worth a damn in recent years?). This revival screening of the 1982 Poltergeist should be crazy fun. In Poltergeist, you get to know the bratty teenager, pot-smoking parents, and the clairvoyant little angel of a baby sister. And you actually care when their house becomes a gateway to hell. (PG) RACHEL SHIMP
