Scott Peterson

Raised in South Seattle and educated at Yale, Scott Peterson paid his own way to Africa after college to become a freelance photographer and journalist. In one memorable encounter, working in dangerous, lawless Mogadishu, he was chased by a stone-throwing mob. On other stories, he drove his motorcycle across thousands of miles of desert. Two decades later, he’s a correspondent for The Christian Science Monitor and an expert on Africa and the Middle East. Tonight, he’ll share his stories of bravery and folly from Let the Swords Encircle Me: Iran – A Journey Behind the Headlines. BRIAN MILLER
