Artopia 2010

Details

Shakes the Movie: Bobcat Goldthwait screens "the Citizen Kane of alcoholic clown movies."

No Superhero: Victor Shade beats a new metaphor.

Hotfootin' It: Pyrosutra dances in a burning ring of fire.

Dabbling in Bliss: Horace Pickett’s dark, whimsical, and hook-laden tunes.

"Razor Sharp”: Alyssa Hellrung brings bad-ass to acrobatics.

Stacking Wood: W. Scott Trimble builds a path less traveled.

Open Trunk:  Kimberlee Iblings and Gwen Stubbs want to dress you up.

Fantastic Voyage: Susan Zoccola makes art from your innards.

Where better to showcase emerging arts talent than Georgetown, the neighborhood that's made being "up and coming" a way of life? SW's annual Artopia event, together with the Georgetown Music Festival, will deliver a full day of sounds, stunts, family fun, and weirdness. Spotlighted are a cult clown movie (Bobcat Goldthwait himself will be on hand for the screening!), local fashion designers, a sculptor on a fantastic voyage, and more.

Be sure to grab a copy of Seattle Weekly for a special Artopia pullout section with the schedule of performances, directions, and more.
