Though shes barely three years into her career, Kaylee Cole is poised to become one of the next breakout singer-songwriters from the northwest. With a phrasing and tone reminiscent of dour chanteuse Chan Marshall, but with an appealing, self-depreciating sense of humor figuring prominently in both her material and stage banter, Cole is currently working on her sophomore release with TV on the Radios David Sitek. Its a prestigious union that certainly has the potential to put her on the national radar, but ultimately her own compelling, confessional voice is her greatest strength. HANNAH LEVIN
