White Rabbits

Thursday October 18

White Rabbits fairy tale rise from Missouri boys in the big city, to Brooklyn band of the moment in under two years is the stuff rock mythology is made of. Scooped up by NYC’s Say Hey Records a mere year after moving into their Bushwick loft, this six-piece musical commune of dueling vocalists (and occasionally dueling drummers) has spent the summer supporting their flawless full-length debut Fort Nightly on the stages of the Siren Festival, Lollapolooza, and the David Letterman show. I know what you’re thinking, but please don’t dismiss this band as over-hyped. White Rabbits deliver in a big way, combining the gritty low-finesse of bands like the Walkmen with calypso/carnival percussion reminiscent of Vancouver’s They Shoot Horses Don’t They or a Tusk-era Fleetwood Mac. The result is an undeniably catchy mix of tunes with an emotional swell that verges on cinematic.
