They were Spin Magazine's 2006 Artist of the Year, Return to Cookie Mountain was ranked fourth in Rolling Stone's annual best-of list and David Bowie chips in for their vocals. Wildly diverse and highly successful New York indie outfit TV on the Radio has accomplished things many groups can only dream of. But what will they do next? The answer to that question is Dear Science, an album that's been two years in the making and will (finally) come out September 23. "Golden Age," the first single off the album (you can listen to it streaming on the group's site), is syncopated and funky with a splash of sixties-era flair. It's almost a little reminiscent of Beck. Complex rock, electronica, hip-hop and jazz elements are underscored by unique, high-pitched vocals. If the track is indicative of Dear Science as a whole, it keeps in line with TVotR's style of always managing to mix things up... and it's going to be great. Can't wait for the album to drop? Check out the closest thing to a sneak preview the live show.
