Yeah, sure, the Capitol Hill Block Party may have had the Fleet Foxes, but the folks down in Allentown aren’t going to be outdone. The South Lake Union Block Party will be parading the unabashedly affluent neighborhood’s pooches in its Muttmazing Race, a decathlon-like series of timed obstacle courses (Go, Fido! Beat the SLUT!) Not only that, but the winners of a pet picture contest will be unveiled in the hottest canine-related runway show since Molly Sims wore sweats with the Victoria’s Secret Pink brand doggie emblem. For those who aren’t permanently attached by leash to their pets, there will also be performances by Aqueduct and other bands, a local chefs’ grill-off, and wine tasting (please pre-game in the Redhook beer garden). Best of all: No PBR in tallboys. Finish the night snuggling with Lassie while enjoying the outdoor screening of Juno. See Web site for full schedule; some events charge admission.
