Fashion First

Every girl has a gorgeous outfit that’s never seen the light of day, or moonlight, because it’s just too dressy to wear in impossibly casual Seattle. Well, ladies, drag it from the back of the closet and dust it off, because here’s the occasion. If it’s anything like last year’s edition of Fashion First, the models won’t be the only ones strutting their stuff. Started five years ago by Seattle Art Institute instructor Joan Kelly, tonight’s shindig goes under the theme of “The Ultimate Color Tour.” That means gawking at over 100 brightly hued new fall looks from (hipper than I’ll ever be) boutiques like Sway and Cake, Tatters, Alhambra, and Marqsmen (for the fellas). Proceeds from the benefit evening go to the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation, so you can feel good about dropping the cash, no matter what tax bracket you’re in. The people-watching alone will be worth the price of admission. Lake Union Park Naval Reserve Building, 860 Terry Ave. N., www.fashionfirst.com. $40-$1,000. 7 p.m. SUZIE RUGH
