Over on Bainbridge Island, the Art & Music Expo combines with the Farmstock music series for a weekend celebration of the island’s historic farmland and agricultural past. Did you know that prior to World War II and the internment of Japanese-American strawberry growers (oops, sorry about that), B.I. was mostly rural? It’s true! Haven’t you read Snow Falling on Cedars? Today, visitors and islanders alike can view and purchase the work of local artists, including Dionne Haroutunian and watercolorist Elizabeth Kay. There are also presentations on music therapy and Australian aboriginal dot painting, a beer garden, and a children’s play center.
