Stephen King has never been given a more memorable, disturbing, boldly surreal movie adaptation, so go figure: he cant stand Stanley Kubricks 1980 masterpiece. The rest of us know better. Fans have a laundry list of shock-and-awe moments to anticipate, from the eerie natural sound of little Dannys Big Wheel rumbling over the Overlooks floorboards toold school spoiler alert!that primal ax swing to Scatman Crothers chest.
