The African Queen

Where better to see this outdoor movie than near South Lake Union and the Wooden Boat Center? For free, you get Hepburn, Bogart, the boat, and the whole damn hokey (but still effective) mismatched romance as it careens down river. John Huston shot the 1951 picture on location in Africa, where Hepburn got very sick while Huston and Bogart got very drunk. Bogart won an Oscar for his lovable scoundrel role; Hepburn later wrote a short, tart book on the production. Show starts at dusk. (NR) BRIAN MILLER
