Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival

Put on your sailor’s cap and your best peg leg for the 32nd annual Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival this weekend (Friday through Sunday). This family-friendly event includes sailboat parades, storytelling, craft workshops, and miniature boat racing. (Saturday will feature a band, Tugboat Country, at 7:30 p.m.) Younger visitors will also appreciate the toy boats and tours of much bigger vessels, vintage Puget Sound tugboats included. For parents, there’s food and live music—plus a beer garden, to take the edge off those maritime yarns and sea shanties. Lake Union Park and Center for Wooden Boats, 1010 Valley St., 382-2628, www.cwb.org. $5 (individual), $10 (family) suggested. 10 a.m.–6 p.m. JAIME SWINDLE
