Dennis Nyback Rarities

The collector of obscure celluloid presents 14 different musical programs this week from his vast archive of the kinky, the bawdy, the precious, the trashy, and the downright bizarre. All these musical shorts fall under the rubric of "From Zero to MTV," indicating that he surveys all cinema history from the silent era to the Reagan years, when it apparently ended. Among the performers featured, look for the Rolling Stones, Lena Horne, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, and Billie Holliday. See the GI's Web site for fuller descriptions of each day's programming, and for variable daily showtimes. (NR). BRIAN MILLER
