Mariachi Madness

I figured tracking down Mariachi Madness (which I assumed was either a band or DJ-hosted evening) would take a couple minutes. Three hours later, the only person I could get on the phone was a bewildered man named Francisco. His band, Mariachi Los Amigos, is located in Washington D.C. and they’ve got no plans to perform in Seattle. Well, it turns out that there’s no such thing as Mariachi Madness. Those crazy Rat City Rollergirls made it up. A Quinceañera celebrates a girl’s 15th birthday and typically calls for a mariachi band. One of the Rollergirls is turning 30 and she wants a commemoration too, damn it.
