Mariachi Madness
Saturday, April 26
Published on April 23, 2008
I figured tracking down Mariachi Madness (which I assumed was either a band or DJ-hosted evening) would take a couple minutes. Three hours later, the only person I could get on the phone was a bewildered man named Francisco. His band, Mariachi Los Amigos, is located in Washington D.C. and theyve got no plans to perform in Seattle. Well, it turns out that theres no such thing as Mariachi Madness. Those crazy Rat City Rollergirls made it up. A Quinceañera celebrates a girls 15th birthday and typically calls for a mariachi band. One of the Rollergirls is turning 30 and she wants a commemoration too, damn it. Expect random dudes who play trumpets and violins to make an appearance, along with real names like Eddy Rock and DJ E-Trash. Funhouse, 206 Fifth Ave. N., 374-8400. 9:30 p.m. $5. ERIKA HOBART
