A few years ago, a psychologist coined the term "the Sylvia Plath effect" to account for poets and artists supposedly having a greater susceptibility to mental illness than most people. (Thanks for the news flash, science.) Heres an occasion to put that hypothesis to an empirical test. The regular Cheap Wine and Poetry Night features readings by published poets, an open mic session for wannabe Sextons, and $1 glasses of wine. Everyone is encouraged to dress up as their favorite writers. And dont take the easy way outdonning a straightjacket doesnt count.
