A large, monopolistic corporation (nope, it ain’t Microsoft) takes advantage of a town’s 20-year-drought by seizing control of public amenities and charging citizens for restroom usage. Capitalism gone amok, incompetent governance, a full bladder… gee, this sure sounds familiar. The three-time Tony Award winning musical/satire Urinetown takes some potent jabs at our society, and at the conventional Broadway musical, with notable performances by Mark Waldstein (as Officer Lockstock) and Alex Garnett (as corporate brown-noser McQueen.) It’s the most enjoyable experience you’ll have in the pisser…well, unless you’ve got your own band to accompany you on “It’s a Privilege to Pee.” SecondStory Repertory, 16587 N.E. 74th St. (Redmond), 425-881-6777, www.secondstoryrep.org. $20-26. 2:15 p.m. (Also: 8:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday.) ERIKA HOBART
April 18-20, 8:15 p.m., 2008
