Rufus Wainwright

Rufus Wainwright is enough to make you think twice

Most straight girls I know think Rufus Wainwright is super fucking hot. They proclaim this lust knowing full and well that Wainwright—who recently toured the nation singing Judy Garland covers in monogrammed overalls—may be the gayest troubadour ever to walk the earth. The son-of-Loudon’s aphrodisiacal allure extends to men as well—and not just to the ‘mos. As one local (and straight) musician who’s spent an evening in Rufus’ company once told me: “Rufus is enough to make you think twice.” Must be the voice: While nasal in conversation, in concert it manifests itself in about the perfect melange of pop and operatic grandeur, casting a spell over all who witness it. He’s hypnotic. And hypnotists can make you do whatever they want. Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine St., 467-5510, www.theparamount.com. $38-$48. 8 p.m. MIKE SEELY
