Beach Blanket Bimbos

Taking it off so others can put it on

If you’re into the burlesque scene, you’ve probably noticed that every major holiday or seasonal change is cause for another show—and sometimes, shows are good for a cause. The folks behind Christmas ‘07’s “Toys for Ta-Ta’s” party have created a pair to benefit those left out in the cold this winter. “Beach Blanket Bimbos” happens tonight and again on the 27th, with a portion of the proceeds going toward blanket and coat purchases, though you can also bring something to donate at the door. And what do you get in return? Performances by Atomic Bombshell Miss Indigo Blue, Sinner Saint diva Sydni Deveraux, The Naked Folksinger Moorea Malatt, and many more lovelies. Plus, it’s hosted by Ernie Von Schmaltz—“the man, the myth, the mustache.” I once saw him pull a cocktail shaker out of his briefs and pour a martini, and that’s all it took. I’d give the man my mink. Columbia City Theatre, 4916 Rainier Ave. S., 723-0088, www.brownpapertickets.com. $15 adv./$20. 8 p.m. RACHEL SHIMP
