Apt #1325 Monday Night Residency with Monday Night Residency with Throw Me the Statue

Monday, January 7

Chop Suey's literal translation is "mixed pieces," and that's been what you get from this venue all along. At present, it's a café (anyone have the word on that?), and every Monday this month it's also an apartment, with Throw Me the Statue being the house band. Radical! After impressing everyone this summer with his upbeat, electronic pop, Scott Reitherman as TMTS recently came back from a tour with one of 2007's brightest, Jens Lekman. Tonight he plays with Husbands Love Your Wives, Final Spins, the Golden Isles, and the Wild Types; next week with the excellent Welcome, and again on the 21st with mysterious special guests. Reitherman's incubating work for releases on Secretly Canadian, but luckily Seattle gets to hear it first. RACHEL SHIMP
