Baby Loves Disco

Shake, shake, shake your diapered booty

If you can walk, you can dance, runs the old adage, and that goes even for the earliest walkers. The monthly Baby Loves Disco parties, held here and in other cities around the country, proves it. Seattle’s events are probably like the one I went to last month in Minneapolis: Held at a cavernous but comfortable hip-hop club (where they temporarily waived the dress code—it was OK for babies to wear gang colors and backwards caps), B.L.D. provided a mini-buffet of healthy snacks and juice boxes, toys and coloring books, a chill room for anyone who needed a time-out, a bubble machine, and a changing station. The DJ spun classic ‘70s dance music—basically the Sunday-night playlist from the old Timberline. We had a blast! Apparently, this year’s earlier B.L.D. parties in Seattle broke records for selling out early, so don’t wait.
