Rilo Kiley, Jonathan Rice, Grand Ole Party

A sexy L.A. band is your JT alternative

Legions of fans will head to see ex-N’Sync crooner Justin Timberlake at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday. Not I. That’s the same evening indie-pop-rock band Rilo Kiley will debut songs from their fourth album Under the Blacklight. Drawing numerous comparisons to Fleetwood Mac, they’ve managed to accumulate a modest cult following in the past few years. Front woman Jenny Lewis has an angelic voice that makes songs about the absence of God, fading romance, and indulgent sex sound like the stuff dreams are made of. So Justin can just go and cry me a river—I’ve made other plans.
