Don’t Throw Stones

Politics under glass

Donna Stack creates a quiet, sprawling work that you’ll want to climb into, but won’t for fear of crushing the already decapitated, melt-mutilated red plastic soldiers that populate the gallery floor. Stack’s stained-glass pup tent, entitled (shouldn’t throw stones) Red Cross Tent is part of the politically-minded exhibit Resistance, with fellow Ellensburg artist Andrew Kaufman. Inside the glass tent, which you’ll have to crouch down to see, a screen runs news footage of such recent events as 9/11 and the Indian Ocean tsunami.
