The Dynasty Room at the Four Seas is what it is. It will never favor of-the-moment indie rock on its jukebox. It will never feature an extensive variety of revolving tap handles from Northwest microbreweries. It will never stage semiregular art installations or tequila tastings with superhot DJs on the wheels of steel. It will never feature extreme poppers on its appetizer menu, nor will it ever refer to an appetizer as an "appeteaser." The Dynasty Room is, simply, a dimly lit lounge situated in the corner pocket of an International District dim-summery that serves stiff, simple cocktails, Tsing Tao beer, and scrumptious chive wontons. It's the sort of place you go to get out of the limelight, listen to Asian pop music, kick off (or end) an illicit amorous liaison, or cut to brass tacks with a business associate (it's worth noting that the Dynasty Room is Seattle City Council member Richard McIver's favorite happy-hour hole-up). It's a place to go when you don't want to be discovered. And for that, it's a place worth discovering. 714 S. King St., 682-4900.
