Snoqualmie Gourmet Ice Cream hosts a party, complete with a tour of the ice-cream factory, to benefit Children's Hospital. Just half an hour northwest of Seattle in Maltby, the event features kid-friendly entertainment and a menu of blackened salmon Caesar salad, fresh lemonade, and root beer floats, made with what I hear is rich, creamy, locally made ice cream. Free event, food prices vary. Noon–4 p.m. Snoqualmie Gourmet Ice Cream Cafe, 21106 86th Ave. S.E., Ste. A, 360-668-8535. MALTBY

BACK TO SCHOOL

Thursday, May 31

A High Tea Party? That's the name of this PCC class, in which you'll learn to craft delicate, snooty sandwiches served in oh-so-elegant tea rooms. The Indian influence on traditional British tea service is apparent in the menu, which includes mango-chicken-curry finger sandwiches, as well as more traditional fillings such as cucumber and smoked salmon. Of course, there are sweets, too: whole-grain shortbread, lemon scones, and berries with crème Chantilly. $40/$35 members. 11 a.m.–1:30 p.m. PCC, 7504 Aurora Ave. N., 525-3586, www.pccnaturalmarkets.com/pcccooks. AURORA/GREEN LAKE
