Studies for Player PianoThe series of mind-bogglingly intricate and complex Studies by Conlon Nancarrow were composed for player piano—old-fashioned punch-card technology that took the piano beyond the realm of what can be played by humans. This performance also includes a filmed interview from 1998 with the composer. Tacoma Art Museum, 1701 Pacific Ave., Tacoma, 253-272-4258, www.tacomaartmuseum.org. $5-$10. 3:30 p.m. Sun. Jan. 14.
