Bert Jansch

Forty years in the game haven’t slowed Scottish folk legend Bert Jansch, and he’s currently touring in style, enlisting Neil Young’s songwriter/guitarist wife Pegi to open for him. Pegi Young has a new album out later this month, while Jansch is touring on the back of Drag City’s reissues of his out-of-print ’70s albums L.A. Turnaround (which features the devastating classic “Needle Of Death,” inspired by a younger generation’s drug abuse), Santa Barbara Honeymoon and A Rare Conundrum. Jansch’s 23rd album, The Black Swan, came out in 2006. Between that vast solo catalogue and his years as a member of Pentangle, Jansch is the rare influential figure who actually exceeds his reputation. With Pegi Young, Jim Page. DOUG WALLEN
