Joe Bar In his unique style of painting vivid acrylic mug shot portraits on brown paper bags, local artist Chris Crites honors civil rights protestors from the 1956 Montgomery bus boycott in "I Was Proud of My Crime." The title echoes the words of one of the more famous arrestees, Martin Luther King Jr. (mug #7089). Another was Rosa Parks (#7053). Also: French transplant Béatrice Billard's cute and creepy "Beasts and Super-Beasts" are acrylic and charcoal paintings and drawings that evoke Hello Kitty and Tim Burton, with a dash of Paul Klee.
