Catherine Opie Lecture This UCLA Professor of Photography will speak in conjunction with the museum's "Contemporary Photography and the Garden—Deceits and Fantasies" exhibit. Opie's work explores the similarities between diverse gardens, from a men's prison in Minnesota to estates in Santa Barbara and the Hamptons. 2 p.m. Sat. March 25. $5-$8. Catherine Person Drake Deknatel was arguably doing his best work when he died at the end of 2005. His final large, bold canvases are haunted by a recurring image: himself as a small boy, lost inside his father's WWII military jacket.
