The feisty folks at Wing-It have cobbled together a rambunctious wink-wink of a holiday show, directed by Carol Roscoe, that takes a rambling, satirical swipe at such Christmas classics as The Nutcracker, A Charlie Brown Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, and all those 60's Rankin/Bass specials with Herbie the Elf, Burgermeister Meisterburger, and Rudolph. Many of the skits are damn funny, and even those on the thin side are carried by the infectious, goofy glee of the three-person cast (Evan Whitfield, Ethan Savaglio, and Gabe Denning). The show's highlight is an ingenious rendition of A Christmas Carol set to the meter of Dr. Seuss. A Tap Dance Christmas Carol

Considering that Scrooge might do the buck and wing in this musical version of the Dickens story, it's surprising how close to the original tale tappers Anthony Peters and Cheryl Johnson have stayed. They mix up some of the elements every year (the 2005 Scrooge is played by a woman) but the basics of home, family, and holiday cheer are still there. And Tiny Tim still taps.
