Donovan
Though a box set is really stretching it (dude's catalog isn't nearly that robust), Donovan is still an ace guitarist with a quietly appealing voice, and he does have a decent-enough catalog if hippie-dippy is your thing. For us, sometimes, it totally is. Moore Theatre, 8 p.m. $36–$41
Eleven Eyes
Straight outta Eugene, Eleven Eyes really, really, really want to make you dance—through free jazz that bumps and grinds with hip-hop turntablism and live breakbeats. Mama's Cookin' headline the party. ToST, 9 p.m. $6

The Lovemakers + She Wants Revenge + Rock Kills Kid
Doesn't the new generation of buzz bands seem dull? That's the case even when they're pretty good, like Rock Kills Kid. Mostly they're sort of whatever like the Lovemakers. And sometimes they're downright abominable—see She Wants Revenge. Crocodile Cafe, 7:30 p.m. $10 adv./$12
Yellowcard
A small-town Florida pop-punk band made really, really good—particularly with the MTV-approved hit "Only One"—expect loads of screaming tweens at this early show with Acceptance and Reeve Oliver. Neumo's, 6 p.m. $20

Si*Se
Touring for More Shine, the N.Y.C.–based band blends sexy Latin rhythms with electronic beats and live instrumentation for a sizzling live performance. The Fading Collection, Betherum Collective, and SunTzu Sound's AC Lewis also play. Chop Suey, 8 p.m. $7
Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Trans-Siberian Orchestra is the brainchild of a former rock musician who wanted to write rock operas and then figured out what an awful oxymoron that was. But don't expect Tommy. Lyfe + Vivian Green + Goapele
Lyfe 268-192 refers to the five-time Showtime at the Apollo winner's former prison number, but the young songwriter's music concerns the heart as well as the street. Neo-soul diva Vivian Green (a former backup singer for Jill Scott) and the sultry Goapele open the show. Showbox, 8 p.m. $25
Trey Anastasio
