Mirabeau Room

Bathed in date-flattering red-gold light, the Mirabeau Room—very different from the space's former incarnation, the lovably divey piano bar Sorry Charlie's— is both hip and cozy (order the mac 'n' cheese if you seek the latter), and the creative booking attracts a distinct clientele each night. Monday is devoted to reggae and dancehall, Tuesday is poetry-slam night, Friday brings Jumbalaya (a popular hip-hop party once held at the Baltic Room), and Saturday usually features bhangra or Bollywood. Whether it's hosting breakbeats or iambic pentameter, the club's cabaret-style stage makes the long room it's in feel warm and intimate, and the lines down the sidewalk on weekends testify to its cachet among those who like to see and be seen. 529 Queen Anne Ave. N., 206-217-2800, www.themirabeauroom.com.
