Serafina

With a dark, elegant interior and the rustic charm of an Italian villa, Serafina beckons patrons to unwind beneath sconces draped with twinkle lights and shelves of hearty bread. From 4 to 6 p.m. weeknights, the happy-hour menu blends creativity with loyalty to Italian tradition. Calamari saltati (spicy flash-fried squid with garlic, lemon juice, and chili flake), bruschetta topped with olive tapenade or goat cheese, and various salads ($4.50 apiece) are packed with the essential Italian ingredients: garlic and olive oil. Eight house cocktails ($7.50 each), including the orange-basil mojito and “margarita melone,” are colorful interpretations of old favorites. Microbrews on tap are $2.75, premium wells are $4.50, and house wines—which change every three weeks, always featuring a red and a white—are $4.50 a glass. There’s live jazz every Friday and Saturday night from 9 p.m. to midnight, and every Sunday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. 2043 Eastlake Ave. E., 206-323-0807. EASTLAKE
